Dr. Sathian Nagamalai MBBS., MS (ophth) has behind him years of valuable insight into the field of eye care and has completed his basic under-graduation from Coimbatore Medical College in 2000, MS (ophthalmology) from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai in 2006, followed by fellowship in glaucoma from Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore in 2009.

After his Post-graduation and fellowship training, he joined and worked in Vasan Eye Care Hospital at R.S Puram as “Chief Medical Officer” and as “Head of glaucoma services” and has successfully treated more than 30,000 cataract patients and has performed more than 5500 glaucoma surgeries. To fulfill his desire of delivering affordable quality eye care, Dr. Sathian Nagamalai started “Eye Trust Hospital” at Valluvar Street, Sivanandha Colony in May 2015.

He was part of various academic activities both in state and national conferences and has written various articles in Tamil Nadu Ophthalmology Journal. He was instrumental in initiating and conducting “Glaucoma Awareness” Rallies in Coimbatore continuously for 6 years. He also served as secretary of Coimbatore Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons (CSOS) and Coimbatore Glaucoma Forum and also as member, managing committee and Honorary Secretary of Coimbatore IMA. Currently, he is serving as Vice-President of IMA Coimbatore and part of decision-making committee of Coimbatore IMA.
